I've had this gorgeous dress from my BFF Trista of @reclamationdesigncompany hanging on my door for at least a month. I decided to use it for a class I wanted to film showcasing posing and directing for emotive imagery. I found myself without a model hours before I was scheduled to film. I'm so thankful my other BFF @hphogan12 is always ready for me at the drop of a hat. She and Aubrey did amazing last night while Gary kept watch of all of our other kids. I'm so happy to have our whole evening together on film thanks to Kyle Tidey.

Go team! Thank you all for everything.
My little baby Oscar.

You want love?
Be love.

You want light?
Be light.
Bombarded by emotionally charged discussions online, I went for a walk today listening to one of my favorite books that always seems to deliver a fitting passage for just what I need to hear. I felt compelled to share this one. "But in a legitimate effort to claim authority in our lives, we forget that there is a reality beyond our limited perception - if not objective, at the least, intersubjective. If I get up tomorrow and see two suns shining in the sky, the first thing I will do is ask someone else what they see. We can be and sometimes are wrong. Knowing this, we can create community where we can check to see if our perceptions have any intersubjective truth. Of course, ultimately, we must decide which perceptions we will grant validity. But to insist that ‘my truth’ and ‘your truth’ have no meeting place, that I do not need to consider other perspectives - to be unable to imagine that I may be wrong about what I think or see or feel at any given time- is to invite narcissistic mayhem. -Oriah Mountain Dreamer
I talk with a lot of other photographers that are struggling to find their unique style. They are searching for that element that identifies their work as their own without any other context needed. It’s so important to keep in mind that it is truly one long, beautiful journey and sometimes when you stop trying so hard your voice just finds you.

The shifts can be so subtle as to be virtually imperceptible and, at times, will come to fruition so rapidly, and with such force, that the profundity is all-consuming. Make it simple, but significant.

Basically my motto for life that I carry into my photography as well. It's really just the most simple acts that I find translate into the most powerful imagery. Thanks for the advice Don Draper.
